Washington, Jun 30 - The Air Force Tanker competition raises issues of global importance. The magnitude of the program cannot be overlooked. The selected platform – which replaces the Eisenhower-era aerial refueling tankers - will play a key role in strengthening our Nation’s defense and military readiness. We believe that the tanker should be made by U.S. workers and that in this time of serious national security and economic challenges; we need to make protecting and preserving America’s defense industrial base a priority.
