Price Statement on Administration Jobs Claims
Washington,
Oct 30 -
Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement in response to the latest administration claims of “stimulus” success.
“It’s always nice to start a day off with a laugh,” said Chairman Price. “But what is not funny is that average Americans and the White House economic team clearly live in two very different worlds. While the administration is playing with numbers and redefining reality to demonstrate success, hard working families are only seeing jobs slip away and their tax dollars go down the drain. The President pledged to Americans that more than 90% of the jobs from this package would be in the private sector, yet all they can point to is government and bureaucratic employment. With each broken promise and each one of these puffed-up reports, the President loses more credibility with the American people.
“It’s time for the White House to spend less time on creating an appearance of jobs and more time on creating real, private sector job growth. Conservatives have been putting forth positive, pro-growth solutions, while Democrats have been creating a mountain of debt. Rather than trying to borrow our way out of this problem, we must put the power to create jobs in the hands of the American people. Giving more money back to those who earn it and putting in place principled incentives for growth, we can restore American prosperity and security.”
